Firmhours builds the hours file from your approved days, in the layout your payroll provider's import expects. You map the columns by hand once, by drag and drop. Simple formats take seconds; complex ones a few minutes. After that, every export is one click. If your provider changes its import, adjust the columns and save. $4 per active user a month.
How the export works
Firmhours doesn't connect to your payroll account, and it never sends anything to it. It writes a file. You, or your bookkeeper, upload that file in your provider's hours import. Each provider's columns are mapped by hand once in the export builder; after that, every export is one click.
- 1Check your provider's import. Some providers have to switch on their hours import for you. Ask before your first payday.
- 2Build the format once. Map the columns your provider's import expects, by hand: order, header, date style and pay codes. Save it. Seconds for simple formats, a few minutes for complex ones.
- 3Close the period. Approve the days. On Payday, download the file. It is built only from approved days.
- 4Upload it. Open your provider's import screen and upload the file. Check the totals, then run payroll there.

None of these are integrations. Firmhours never connects to your payroll account. You upload the file yourself.
On QuickBooks Time: Intuit lists Time Premium at $20 a month plus $10 per user, and Time Elite at $40 a month plus $12 per user. Each base fee includes one admin, and QuickBooks Time requires a QuickBooks Online subscription (Intuit pricing, checked Oct 23, 2026). A crew of 10 plus an admin on Premium is $120 a month before QuickBooks Online. On Firmhours, those 10 people are $40.
